How do we live deeply and remain open?

Studio Zinnia is my creative practice encompassing original paintings, commissioned work, writing, hand-bound journals, gatherings and art camps for girls.

My work grows from a lifelong inquiry into how we understand what makes a meaningful life and claim the freedom to live accordingly. Threaded beneath it is a personal desire to feel seen, known and loved, and trust myself to take up space. My own search has made me attentive to how easily women’s creative autonomy can be constrained, and how closely it is connected to voice, self-trust and the ability to take our own ambitions seriously.

Through painting, performance, writing and artist books, I explore the ways women are made invisible, including through inherited expectations of femininity and the unrecognized demands of domestic life. I often turn to nature and poetry as conduits for awakening. They invite the possibility to deepen our understanding of ourselves and reconnect us with something larger. By making my own search visible, I hope others might recognize something of themselves within the work and feel seen too.
