I've commissioned Zinnia to craft several boxes and journals over the years to gift to people in my life. Offering someone a piece of functional art that was designed especially for them is one of the most meaningful gifts I've ever given.

I trusted Zinnia to take the stories and symbols I offered her and to turn them into something magical. She has a way of knowing what needs to be expressed, drawing on colour, texture, symbolism and metaphor to curate something meaningful. 

These boxes and journals are not objects ~ they are memory holders. They hold so many emotions and intentions, both from the person gifting it and the person receiving it. I can't think of a more meaningful thing to offer someone who is on the threshold of change. Whether they are grieving or celebrating, this gives them a safe place for their emotions to land. 

Zinnia's offerings are extensions of the heart, and vessels of love.

As the owner of an independent bookstore and gallery I have known Zinnia and her lovely artwork for many years. When I found out that she also created unique hand made journals I was thrilled to go through the process with her of having one commissioned.

The intuitive process that Zinnia uses is unique and exciting. She posed prompts and questions in order to discover what I was interested in and colours I might want reflected in this personalised journal. 

As I waited, it was a fun to daydream about what I might find inside the journal’s pages once she had completed it. And when I did receive this amazing hand crafted book I was honestly awed by the beauty on every page. The colours, the images, poetry, so many different kinds of paper and textures. So much of what I love in the world on those pages! A true delight for the eyes and the heart.

I had shown the journal to a few people and a friend going through a difficult time had expressed how much she loved it. As it turned out, it was the perfect gift for her to lift her up when she most needed some beauty in her days. 

Zinnia’s positive energy and light shine through each and every page. The design of each journal is unique and individual. I highly recommend her wonderful hand made journals for anyone who wants a little oasis of beauty sitting on their desk or wants to send some to a friend or loved one.
